The 10 cm high fairy-tale figurine "Frog Prince" made of Meissen porcelain is an outstanding example of the collection's distinctive style, which finds its inspiration in expressionism. Peter Strang's humorous interpretations of Grimm's motifs take a step back from the sometimes sinister, hard-to-fathom meanings of the fantastic tales. Peter Strang's fairy-tale figurine "Frog King" from 1998 uses a humorous, ironic and yet complex formal language, representing cheerful footnotes made of Meissen porcelain to literary tradition. For his outstanding artistic achievements, Peter Strang was honored with the Saxon Order of Merit in 2000 and the Federal Cross of Merit in 2007.
