The Meissen manufactory's own cobalt blue under-glaze paint was used to render the graceful pattern of vines and flowers on the 29 cm high "Vase Blue Brocade". This paint sinks deep into the porcelain during firing, thus developing a unique depth with intensity. A striking contrast to the glossy blue painted flowers and vines, the 23-karat gold sets the objects' matte gold background. It lends the decorative elements an almost religious quality that heightens the paradisiacal symbolic power of the images. As part of the Limited Edition 2019 collection, the traditional arabesque painting method has been interpreted in a contemporary fashion. Applied as a border on a modern vase shape by Sabine Wachs, the "Vase Blue Brocade" made of Meissen porcelain is a real eye-catcher.
